E-Reporting

To complete an e-report, Falkirk needed software programs to support the varied document types used in the report, i.e. AutoCAD maps, Excel spreadsheets, and Word documents. We decided web browser html software gave us the flexibility we needed to set up the table of contents and display the links to the various files. Using Adobe Acrobat, we could combine the various types of files listed above into a user-friendly PDF format. We executed an agreement with Adobe to freely distribute a web browser plug-in, Acrobat Reader 6.0, to read the PDF files which Falkirk created. We also executed an agreement with AutoDesk to distribute their web browser plug-in, Volo View Express 2.01, to view the large-scale AutoCAD maps in their native DWG format or in Drawing Web File (DWF) format. If you have been previously using the Whip plug-in you should un-install it and replace it with Volo View Express.

The following is a list of system requirements:

HELP FILES

Three "Help" files, listed below, have been installed on this CD to assist in the transition from paper to electronic format. Simply click on the file of your choice and browse:

Acrobat Reader 7.0, Help to view and print the PDF files;

Volo View Express 2.01, Help to view and print the large-scale maps in a DWG or DWF file format;

Layer Convention Standards, used on the large-scale maps;
